Old Foto Friday: Burnouts and German Helmets
1967, my dad's first street bike, the '46 knuck in it's first version. He was about 18yrs old in this photo -note little bit of smoke coming off the rear tire!
2nd note, I was just about to just click post and then came across this photo... This was taken on real black and white film by my friend Tim. I was also 18 because this was taken for my graduating yearbook photo. This was my first street bike, a 125 Honda I got from Elmer Ottens. My dad also got his knuck from Elmer. And to top it all off, that's the exact same helmet... Que the twilight zone music?
3rd note, this photo was not staged to match the top photo, it just happened that way!

Back Home
Once again things have been pretty busy - multiple trips in and out of Brooklyn and trying to get things in order at home. However, the Suzuki is back home and sitting pretty. It won't be long and I can fire it up again. For now it's just good to sit back and stare at it over a beer. I know you've all done it too.

Last Minute Machine Work
Finally got to make the new sprocket mount for the sidecar bike. I started with a 7" aluminum solid.
...the backside turned down to fit the rim and disc brake rotor.
...sprocket side turned down and also bored for an outer bearing.
Everything fits real nice. Just need to drill the holes. Four bolts to mount the wheel and rotor, and four holes drilled and tapped for the sprocket.Monday, May 7, 2012
Asbury Lanes
Being at the Cycle Source party reminded me of the show in 2006 at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ. For me personally this was the first type of event like this I've ever been to. It was also the first time I got to see Indian Larry's bikes in person. And the fact they weren't behind a red rope was kind of mind blowing. The ol'man and I got there early and we got to see the bikes being carried up the steps. Since they were out on the sidewalk I as able to snap some good pictures.
Mike 47's wild one lunger.
