What Do You Do With Two Broken Motorcycles??

What do you do when one bike has a bad motor, and the other has a bad frame. Swap 'em out! Ben wanted to do this engine swap in the future anyway, but there's no time like the present!

The bottom end took a dump on the pan.

The frame on the shovel developed a serious crack in the neck gussets ... on both sides.

 Out goes the pan.

In goes the shovel.

 Made up a new front head pipe to wrap around the floor board.

In goes the clutch.

On the road again! 6 hours total for this swap. 

Some Pan updates from Ben

Ben got his heads back from getting rebuilt. Bead blast, fancy valve job, new springs, seals and retainers.

 No more white primer! The fender looks so good finally painted haha. 

Easy Winter In NJ So Far

Just a few more days and I head back to NYC for my last and final semester. In the meantime I'm enjoying as much riding as possible.

Sunday I hung out with Ben working on his pan. He's been in the process of putting it back to looking stock.
He's installed floorboards, tin primary, mousetrap. The stock style fender is out for paint. New chain, sprockets and tires are also on their way. The engine is also getting new head gaskets.

New tabs for the inner primary to mount to.

Ben also had to turn his own spacer for the inner primary.

 End of the day Sunday things were starting to shape up nice.
