"That book is 60% cheap trash...."

Think what you want, but a cool rare interview

Sportster front fender: more work

Unfortunately I forgot my camera going to the shop so all I have are my cell phone pics but they'll do.
Finished smoothing out the welds and the fender is now one piece again. (took 1 inch out of the center)

Next step was to take 1" out of the mounting bracket

Finished the bracket and now fits inside the fender again.

Next was to pull those dimples out for the fork tubes. The fender was too narrow in those spots and hit the tire. All I did was do a very small pie cut, hammered them out and stitched them back together. Its a subtle mod but its clear of the tire now.

Welded and smoothed out. Almost done and its lookin pretty spiffy.

Check this out: Choppers in "Bullitt"?!

Lately I've been doing some research on the Bullitt film. I'm orchestrating a car chase in some storyboards I'm drawing up. Mind you, I'm not trying to copy Bullitt, no one can! But, what better way to get some inspiration flowing by watching this chase scene and still making your hairs stand on end!

Ive been looking at various websites for more info for my own fun and I came across this photo...
Ive never seen this photo before. Take a closer look by that panel truck...

Mustang is on the left... whats that on the right.....

That looks to me like your typical San Francisco chopper right there! NEVER, EVER saw it in the movie. Well, theres a reason for that....

(snagged a screen cap) It's just a dark stringy blur and this is the only frame you can see it in. Just the way the camera was shot, the mustang blocks it and then its cut off by the frame. Pretty cool if you ask me. Just a shame you cant get a closer look!

Pot Metal SUCKS

Got this buckle from the Peterson Automotive Museum. Wore it for a year and the tab snapped. Glad I only paid $10 for it. OOPS did I say that out loud? yeah I think the gift shop fucked up. They go for $25 on the old2new designs website. Oh yeah, snagged the Mail Box too.

ANYWAY, yeah that little tab use to be straight and be mounted to that silver circle.

Turned down a new tab, drill a new hole where old tab use to be and silver solder it back together and hop it holds.

This video still gives me goosebumps....

This is what riding truly is. You see a guy rumble by with obnoxious pipes and you think hes out to terrorize the world. However on the inside, his world is silent and he is focused. The rider may be set on a specific course, but the mind drifts and wanders where ever it wants.

It's been dead lately....

School year is windin down and theres a ton of work to be done.
But heres some updates...

Got to test fit the fender

Taking the 1" out of the center was perfect. It hugs that tire just right.

Just some pics from a ride a few weeks ago.
