Strange Days 2 was a total blast. Once again great people, good stories and an awesome time. Congrats to Will who won the Cocaine Bandit. Photos to come!
Poor Billy partied a little too hard and missed most of the action in the afternoon. Made for a great photo though! *Photo by Geoff Barrenger*
Hey gang! Can't believe Strange Days is less than a week away! So just a reminder for how to get to Strange Days check out the maps below.
Click on the icons within the map for more info about our layout. If you want to see this larger just click on the link below the map. There you can also set your directions and print them if you want.
Plus an interactive map of local attractions. This map contains what is outside of our event. Gas stations, diners, hardware stores for that bolt that fell out on the ride over, etc. We got you covered!
And yes it is Friday, and it's time for a long over due Old Foto Friday post.
My ol'man and his Sportster in it's first chopped version circa 1971
My ol'man gave me an album Ive never seen before with some great well preserved photos in them from back in the day. I still haven't run out of photos to post, but now I have a lot more to add to the scanned collection.
There has been a real lack of posting around here. Things have been really busy and it's been tough to sit down at the computer. Strange days is right around the corner!!! Things are moving right along with the give away chopper. Check it out below!!!
Other news it looks like I screwed the panhead!!! Too hot of a ride last weekend in the city and looks like I destroyed the rings on the rear cylinder. Won't fully know until we tear it down. Unfortunately it looks like Mary Jane will have to sit out Strange Days this year.
The Slum Goddess needs the carb taken apart and cleaned again. Apparently I didn't get all of the sand removed from the tank like I thought I did. (Im also looking for a Superglide tank for it. Anyone?)
The Yamahopper is doin great as always. Had a hiccup a few weeks ago with a broken ground cable but its all good now.
And lastly the Suzuki has just been sitting. The tanks need their fittings installed and some other odds and ends done and I can fire it up again.
Check out the Cocaine Bandit running down the road! Come win it!!! The video was shot just before the tare-down for paint and chrome. She is gonna be so sweet when it's done.
The Slum Goddess gets some parts swapped with the goodies found at Rhinebeck. I finally found a new set of wide bars and a fairly small round air cleaner. I also now have the covered shocks put on that Ed gave me. (thanks again Ed!) It sits a little higher but I couldn't take the struts any more. Cool hurts! Slowly but surely it will be heading into its next version.
We arrived Friday afternoon and got there just in time for the rain drops to start falling. Its not a ride unless your fixin something! Ed just barely rode into town with a
wasted throw out bearing. Also if you find a NY license plate and taillight laying in the road give Ed a shout!
